Koke hastens his return with Atlético and could be on Sunday (9:00 p.m.) in the transcendental league match against Betis. The captain of the rojiblanco team trained in today’s morning session together with Óscar Pitillas, one of the team’s recoverers from Madrid. While his teammates left the field of play, the midfielder trained alone with the Atlético player.
Koke had a physical session, with a run and exercises, and a part with the ball. The Atlético midfielder touched the ball and made short and mid-distance movements. Pitillas asked Koke not to force his movements on the pitch at any time. Koke looked good, comfortable at the time of hitting and also when he did the physical exercises. We will have to see what happens in the next training sessions and if Koke joins the group.
The Atlético player played the match against Osasuna, with the rojiblancos winning by 0-3 and later he could no longer play the Champions League match against Manchester United (1-1) and neither did the LaLiga match against Celta (2.0). In total, he has played 30 official competition matches (21 in LaLiga, six in the Champions League, two in the Copa del Rey and one in the Spanish Super Cup). He has provided two assists, one in the league championship and another in the Champions League.
Simeone has Kondogbia out in midfield for the match against Betis and it remains to be seen which player will take his place. It could be De Paul, but also Koke if he can finally get to the game against Betis, as can be seen from the solo training he had earlier today.
