Koeman's first test: his date with Messi and the rest of the captains

One of the first actions that Ronald Koeman will face, once he is presented as the new coach of FC Barcelona, is to meet with the captains. In principle, it will be a telematic summit and not face-to-face: some players have been away from Barcelona for days enjoying their vacation period.

The interlocutors with Koeman will be Leo Messi, Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto and Gerard Piqué. The meeting promises to be 'warm': more than one is indicated as possible sacrificed for the sake of a profound renewal of the club, as is the case of Sergio Busquets, of whom his agent, Josep Maria Orobitg, has already said that he has no intention to leave the club. Others like Piqué could also be in the trigger, although in his case more because he offered himself publicly than for anything else, while Sergi Roberto could also enter into an operation, although his agent, the same as Busquets, insisted that he not there is no exit option.

However, the man who will focus all the attention and tension in the meeting will be Leo Messi. The Argentine must be the cornerstone of Ronald Koeman's new project, according to President Josep Maria Bartomeu himself, who described it as “The most non-transferable of all”.

Right now everything that revolves around Leo since the humiliating defeat in Lisbon exudes uncertainty and, why not say it, even a certain concern. Mosquea, and a lot, in the club that after the announcement by a Brazilian journalist Marcelo Bechler that the crack wants to leave this season, the Argentine has not spoken to refute or deny it. Not even through social networks, a means that he has used in recent months to put everyone on their site, including the already former technical secretary, Eric Abidal.

From this meeting with Koeman, and led by Messi, the future of the club will surely depend. Convincing Leo is not going to be very easy, especially since the forward does not move for money but for confidence in a project and we will see if he feels comfortable with the possibility that Luis Suárez and Jordi Alba, with whom he is sharing the holidays in a town in the Catalan Pyrenees, they leave the club. Messi has been advocating for years for a champion team that the sports management has been unable to provide.

It is evident that everything other than that Leo heads the new project of the Dutch coach will lead the club to an untenable situation that would force the current board of directors to revoke all the decisions it has made in the last meeting and put an end to its mandate instantly.
