Koeman, desperate: Messi and seven more internationals will not return until Thursday

A complicated week awaits Ronald Koeman: until Thursday he will not have all the internationals at his disposal, so will have little time to prepare for the game against Getafe on Saturday (9 pm) at the Alfonso Pérez stadium. In fact, his best player, Leo Messi, will be one of the last to return, having a game this Tuesday against Bolivia in La Paz. It will not be until Thursday, in the session scheduled at 5.30 pm, when Leo joins the group dynamicsTherefore, he will only be able to face two work sessions before the game against Getafe.

This circumstance, with the added effort of a match with Argentina that will play at three thousand meters, could open the doors to the possibility of Koeman reserving the Argentine star and sitting him on the bench in the game against Getafe, in order to modulate efforts, aware that four days later the team debuted in the Champions League against the Hungarian Ferencvaros at the Camp Nou and that weekend the Classic is played.

But Messi will not be the only player to join on Thursday, since a total of seven internationals are in the same position when they have a match with their national teams this Wednesday: Clement Lenglet, Antoine Griezmann, Martin Braithwaite, Francisco Trincao, Miralem Pjanic, Philippe Coutinho and Ronald Araujo.

And that is if you do not decide to give a day off to one of the players who accumulate more hours of flight and fatigue -especially the South Americans-, so some could rejoin directly on Friday if Koeman considers it so.

In any case, the Dutch coach will recover the Spanish internationals before, both those of the senior team and the sub'21. Sergio Busquets, Ansu Fati, Sergi Roberto, Pedri, Iñaki Peña and Riqui Puig will rejoin the morning session on Wednesday.

Thus, Koeman has planned a week with daily work sessions -except for Saturday when the team travels to Madrid to play against Getafe- and with a double session on Tuesday, which will surely be with the family, because today it has few first-team troops: Neto, Dest, Aleñá, Piqué and Dembélé, to which must be added the injured Ter Stegen, Junior, Matheus, Umtiti and Alba.
