MADRID, 14 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Liverpool coach, Juergen Klopp, stated this Friday that he does not understand talking about “things” that he cannot have, in reference to his club’s possible interest in the English midfielder from Borussia Dortmund Jude Bellingham, for which he asked to “accept that it’s not possible.”
“It is not about Jude Bellingham my answer now, but I have never understood why we constantly talk about things that theoretically we cannot have. We cannot sign six players in one summer, all for 113 million euros. Everyone would say that this is Of course,” the German said at a press conference, confirming that Liverpool is withdrawing from the ‘bid’ for Bellingham, one of the most desired footballers in Europe.
Klopp insisted that he had “nothing to say about it”, arguing that he does not speak “of the players we sign or do not sign”, nor “speculation”. “You have to realize what you can do and then work with it. That’s how I’ve always worked,” he said, comparing the situation with the gifts that children receive at Christmas time.
“We’re not kids. You wouldn’t ask a 5-year-old, ‘What do you want for Christmas?’ And he tells you he wants a Ferrari. You wouldn’t say it’s a good idea, you’d say it’s too expensive and he can’t drive it. If this kid is unhappy all his life because he can’t get a Ferrari, it would be a sad life. There are times when that you have to accept that it is not possible for us”, settled Klopp in the preview of the duel against Leeds this Saturday.
