Klopp-Ancelotti: the Premier, in Liverpool fashion

For now, the Premier follows the Liverpool fashion. While, after José Mourinho's Tottenham slump and its consequent loss of the leadership, no London team is on the podium of the English championship or in its Champions zone, the leader and his escort live in Merseyside. Júrgen Klopp's Liverpool and Carlo Ancelotti's Everton, who follow the champion by 3 points.

Everton was the sensation of the start of the Premier 2020-21, of which it was the leader driven by the goals of Dominic Calvert-Lewin (who now leads 11, 2 behind the 'top scorer' Mohamed Salah, 13) and by the quality of James Rodriguez. Now, despite the injury to the Colombian midfielder (who will not play until January and therefore will have missed the last 6 matches of his team in 2020), he is once again near the top.

Despite the fact that this Premier is turning out to be very close, Liverpool, who in 2019-20 were proclaimed English champions for the first time since 1990 and who on Sunday drew against West Brom (penultimate, 1-1), is in the lead. Its scoring power allows it: it is the team that has the most goals, 37, followed by Manchester United and Chelsea, with 30.

If Salah is a “top scorer” with 13, Sadio Mané has achieved 6, while Roberto Firmino and the now injured Diogo Jota 5 each. The 'reds' command the table despite the plague of injuries they have suffered, starting with one of its great pillars, Virgil van Dijk, who will probably miss the entire season. Precisely after an entry by Jordan Pickford in the derby against Everton (2-2).

In addition, there is the circumstance that Anfield and Goodison Park, the Liverpool and Everton stadiums respectively, are the only stadiums in the Premier that can currently accommodate an audience (2,000 spectators per game), due to health restrictions due to the pandemic of the coronavirus. The Government of the United Kingdom also authorized in early December to welcome spectators to the six stadiums in London, plus those in Brighton and Sotuhampton, but backed down due to the increase in infections.
