Kerber says goodbye to Roma tournament in first round

German Angelique Kerber, former world number 1 and winner of three Grand Slam titles in her career, fell 6-3 6-1 against Czech Katerina Siniakova on Tuesday, number 61 in the ranking, in the first round of the tournament in Rome.

On a Pietrangeli track of the Roman Italic Forum deserted, as the tournament is played without an audience due to the coronavirus pandemic, Kerber said goodbye to the tournament in just 70 minutes against Siniakova with a lackluster performance.
