Kate Middleton plays with Federer at Wimbledon and surprises the Swiss: did he manage to score a goal?

William’s wife of England went toe-to-toe with Roger Federer and scored against the champion. The prince and his wife were invited to a training session for some of the young hopefuls to be chosen to be ball boys during the championships that will take place from July 3 to 16 in London.

Kate even went down to court and tested her drive against the tennis great and even appears to have scored a point on the 20-time Grand Slam winner, a scene that was caught on video and broadcast on British television news.

The meeting is included in a short YouTube video filmed at the All England Club and its tennis center earlier this month. In the video, Kate shows off her tennis prowess as she takes part in a doubles rally against the eight-time Wimbledon champion, in which she hit a low forehand that Federer was unable to return. “I think he was on the line,” said the humorous Swiss when he saw himself defeated by the princess.

In the video released this Saturday, in addition to seeing Kate Middleton playing, Federer recalls that “I used to be a ball boy in Basel when I was ten years old” and explained that “when you were once a ball boy you are always a ball boy.”
