Kang-In Lee hurts ‘his’ Valencia and Valladolid stops Real’s streak

Rayo Vallecano thrashed a Cádiz that played with nine for half an hour

MADRID, 22 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Mallorca came from behind (1-2) this Saturday against Valencia at Mestalla with a goal from former Valencian player Kang-In Lee, while Real Valladolid completed its big week after beating Real Sociedad (1-0) and Rayo thrashed (5-1) to a Cádiz that played with nine for half an hour, in matches corresponding to the eleventh day of LaLiga Santander.

Kang-In Lee, who spent a decade in the city of Turia, apologized to his former supporters after giving Javier Aguirre’s men the victory in the 83rd minute. Goalless in the first half, the chances were equally distributed between both sets. Lee gave the first scare with a good header that Mamardashvili covered, while a shot by Almeida, saved by Rajkovic, was the most dangerous for the ‘che’.

He changed the script after the restart and after a good against Valencia, Gattuso’s men found the prize for the goal. Antonio Sánchez fouled Samuel Lino in the area and Cavani opened the scoring from eleven meters, adding his fourth league goal. The joy of the locals did not last long when Sánchez Martínez again signaled the maximum penalty, although this time in the rival area. Muriqi, who returned after his two games of suspension, put the equalizer.

The insistence of the visitors found in the boots of Kan-In Lee the final comeback. Great move by the former Valencian player, who after a combination between Muriqi and Dani Rodríguez, picked up a filtered pass and after two cuts, hit a whiplash at Mamardashvili’s goal.

With this victory, Mallorca puts an end to a four-game losing streak without a win and sits in the middle of the table, against a Valencia team that hasn’t lost since the beginning of September and misses out on another opportunity to get closer to the European positions.

VALLADOLID STOPS THE STREAK OF THE REAL SOCIEDAD

For its part, Valladolid managed to stop Real Sociedad and completed a great week with two wins in two games, after 4-1 against RC Celta on Wednesday. In addition, Sergio León’s goal in the first half put an end to Real Sociedad’s historic streak which, until their visit to José Zorrilla, had accumulated eight consecutive victories in all competitions.

An even match in which, in addition to Sergio León, the main protagonist was VAR, which nullified up to three goals. Barely ten minutes had passed when Monchu, after a good shot, beat Remiro, but Figueroa Vázquez changed his initial decision to signal a prior foul on Brais. Shortly after, Sergio León returned the goal to the scoreboard and after winning his duel against Le Normand, he sent the ball to the back of the net.

Turned the Real in search of the tie, the people of San Sebastian met again with the video arbitration. Kubo closed the gap with a long shot but the VAR warned the referee again. Near the end of the second half Zubimendi rang the bell, but the euphoria on the visiting bench stopped after Karrikaburu assisted Zubimendi from an advanced position.

Thus, Valladolid catches air in the classification and after getting six points in three days puts land in between with the relegation places. On the other hand, those from Alguacil (22), maintain third place although they will have to wait for what Atlético de Madrid (20) and Real Betis (20) do.

EL RAYO BEATS CÁDIZ AND IS ESTABLISHED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TABLE

In addition, Rayo Vallecano won again after three days without doing so, in a match that dominated from start to finish and that with goals from Isi Palazón, Álvaro García, Sergio Camello, and a brace from Florian Lejeune, struck down a Cádiz that He got to play half an hour with nine players after Iza was sent off in the first half, and Rubén Alcaraz in the second.

Rayo’s intensity did not quickly translate into goals thanks to Conan Ledesma who held his team down with good saves on Álvaro García and Santi Comesaña. We had to wait until the final stretch of the first half for Iraola’s men to find their reward for their insistence in the form of a penalty and, in addition, the expulsion of the Cadista central defender. Isi converted the maximum penalty and gave wings to a lightning bolt that in added time made Álvaro García’s boots 2-0.

Same script in the second half, with absolute control of the locals, who warned with two good shots from Isi, of what was to come. Bad luck ended up taking over the visitors when Rubén Alcaraz was sent off for committing a foul at the edge of the area that Lejeune masterfully launched into the back of the net.

Forced to withdraw due to numerical inferiority, Cádiz could only see how Rayo overcame them with goals from Camello and Lejeune, with a brace, although Balliu scored an own goal for the cadistas. Rayo is consolidated in the middle of the table with 15 points, while Cádiz, with seven, remains in relegation places.
