Julio Iglesias remembers for his 80th birthday the moment when he “almost” died and Miranda covered him: “I love you”

Julio Iglesias turns 80 this Saturday, September 23, and, to celebrate this great anniversary, our most international singer has left a letter in which he celebrates life: “I always say that I don’t believe in destiny, but I believe in circumstances.” , he says at the beginning of his letter.

In this letter published in Holathe interpreter of I am a scoundrel, I am a lordcontinues: “I was not born to be a singer; in reality, I don’t know why I was born, but I have had many circumstances in my life, which have changed everything,” he writes.

Thus, he remembers the most notable stages of his life: “First I played for Real Madrid, the team of my life, at the same time I was studying Law at the University, then I almost died, but I lived again; then, a guitar changed my life forever and I started to sing, by the way, not very well, and I also started writing songs.

It must be remembered that Enrique Iglesias’ father played in the youth ranks of Real Madrid and even made his debut in the Merengue first team at just 19 years old. However, his promising career as a footballer was cut short in 1962 when he suffered a traffic accident near Majadahonda, north of Madrid, which left him almost paralyzed for more than a year.

Since his retirement in the Dominican Republic, Miranda Rijnsburger (57) has chosen to write some words of love to her husband: “Dear Julio, on this special day, on your 80th birthday, I want to tell you how much I love you and how grateful I am to have a man as incredible as you by my side during “These 33 wonderful years. We have shared laughter, tears, adventures and we have created a beautiful family with our five beloved children.”

The former Dutch model continues: “You are the reason for my happiness and the pillar of our life together. May this new chapter in your life be full of health, joy and unforgettable moments. Happy birthday, my love!”
