Juanma Cerundolo will play the NextGen ATP Finals

The news of the resignation of Felix Auger-Aliassime to compete in the Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan has allowed the Argentine Juanma Cerundolo, 19 years old (he will turn 20 on November 15), certify your ticket to be among the eight tennis players who will play the tournament from November 9 to 13 in the Italian city.

In this way, Cerundolo becomes the first tennis player in South America to participate in the competition since its creation in 2017. and sees his great season 2021 rewarded, in which he has achieved his first professional title on the ATP Tour at the Córdoba Open after reaching the final draw from the qualifying round and defeating Albert Ramos in the title match. In addition, Cerundolo has won the titles of Roma 2, Como and Banja Luka this season, which has allowed him to break into the Top-100 of the ATP ranking for the first time.

Cerundolo, who was eighth in the ‘race’ before the announcement of Auger-Aliassime’s resignation, thus becomes the Seventh player qualified for the Next Gen ATP Finals after the Italian Jannik Sinner, the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz, the Americans Sebastian Korda and Jenson Brooksby, the Italian Lorenzo Musetti and the American Brandon Nakashima. There is still one last ticket for the Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan, which is chosen, among others, by the Argentine Sebastián Báez or the Danish Holger Rune among others.
