Juan Mata and solidarity in the world of football

“1% of my salary is not enough but if we add 1% of many others we can act as a team and we can achieve our goals. We want to help in any way we can. It may seem far away but every day we must fight for a goal. It gives me hope and a sense of pride to see what other players do, “he said.

Mata participated this Monday in a round table of the virtual forum World Football Summit (WFS) Focused on “player activism and success beyond the field“, together with the footballers Johan Djourou (FC Nordsjlland) and Sofie Junge Pedersen (Juventus).

For me it is not just a specific action but a daily routine. Success is usually related to material things or titles but for me it has hundreds of interpretations how to be part of a movement to change socially and leave a legacy, “he added.

Mata launched an invitation to join the initiative that raises funds from soccer professionals – 1% of their salary- for organizations that use this sport to promote social development in their communities and asked the youngest to act responsiblyLearn and don't be afraid to speak up for your values.
