Juan Carlos I says goodbye to Sanxenxo: a dinner at sea with his daughter Elena and greater institutional weight

It was the farewell dinner. Juan Carlos I enjoyed the company of his eldest daughter, Elena, before leaving for the Emirates. It was Saturday night the 30th. Both embarked in the port of Sanxenxo with Pedro Campos and his wife, Cristina France, and enjoyed an evening aboard a boat, where dinner was served, as published The Vigo Lighthouse. Shortly before leaving for Abu Dhabi, on his way to the airport, Felipe VI’s father insisted that his desire is to live in our country. In this fourth visit of Juan Carlos I to Spain, the former head of state is gaining institutional weight. He is gaining presence because he has had media focus since minute one of the first visit. This is the proof.

At the awards ceremony for the eighth edition of the regatta that bears his name, Juan Carlos I was accompanied by Elena and also by the president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda; the president of the Pontevedra Provincial Council, Luis López; and the mayor of Sanxenxo, Telmo Martín, among other authorities. The trophy presentation took place at the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo (RCNS), in Pontevedra.

Dinner at sea

It is clear that Infanta Elena is her unwavering support. Worship is mutual. On Saturday night, taking advantage of the high temperatures of a late summer in Sanxenxo, the emeritus and his daughter, after dinner, took a walk around the port. The former head of state, who was wearing the same nautical vest as his assistant, was arm in arm with his daughter. Infanta Elena, with a salmon-colored safari jacket, wore a hat Borsalino and a shopper bag. He protected his neck with a scarf.

Early this morning, the king emeritus said goodbye to Spain. The monarch left with a big smile, waved from the car and confessed his desire to live in Spain again, as reported by Europa Press. He then took a plane at the Peinador airport, in Vigo, heading to Abu Dhabi. On this visit, in addition, he was able to share time with her sister Margarita, her nephews Alfonso and María and her son, Carlos, godson of the emeritus. Not with his son, Don Felipe, with whom he met in Pontevedra. They were 17 minutes away. That reunion was avoided.
