Jovic's rebirth

This start of the season is experienced by Luka Jovic as a rebirth of his possibilities as a Real Madrid player. The Serbian went to the call-up of his national team knowing that Carlo Ancelotti has a place for him in his plans and at the slightest opportunity the forward showed that he had not forgotten to score: he made it 0-2 in the friendly between Qatar and Serbia (finished 0-4), with an interesting maneuver. He received in the race, with a series of cuts inwards he cleared two rival defenses and then deceived the goalkeeper by finishing with his left to the nearest post, when he waited with a long hit to his right.

A good goal to remind the world that he still has in his legs and in his head the qualities for which Madrid recruited him in 2019, from Eintracht Frankfurt in exchange for 60 million euros. And this Saturday he came out at the end of the match against Luxembourg and gave the assist for the fourth goal of his team, the work of Milenkovic.

Something last came of the summer, but the preseason allowed him to refine and against Qatar with Serbia he was remarkable: one goal, two scoring chances generated with his passes, 88% success in his movements of the ball, two good dribbles of three attempted, seven duels won and four fouls caused. Now he just needs Ancelotti to give him a real chance, something that could happen in the return of this break: the Champions League arrives, and therefore the matches every three or four days, which will force Carletto to start rotating.

What Jovic does know, from Ancelotti's mouth, is that he has won the game over Mariano as the Italian's first option when it comes to giving Benzema refreshment. This was transmitted to him during the preseason and this has been demonstrated in the first days of the League. In addition, the closing of the transfer market was very symptomatic in this regard. Madrid searched until the last moment for an option to remove the Spanish-Dominican, but he discarded the possibility of playing at Rayo, when the agreement between clubs was already complete.

On the other hand, with Jovic there has been from the beginning the conviction that this course could shine from the hand of a new coach (with Zidane, the tune was not the best) and giving refreshment to a Benzema too used to playing everything and that this course, in addition, he again experiences what it is like to be summoned with the national team, which means more physical burden for him. Eintracht and the two Milan teams, both Milan and Inter, consulted about his situation, but he stayed and now awaits the moment to begin to justify finally the strong investment that Madrid made in him.
