Luka Jovic will pay 30,000 euros to avoid going to jail for having skipped the confinement in Belgrade last March. As reported by Cadena COPE, the striker reached an agreement with the Serbian authorities to avoid being imprisoned: he will pay those 30,000 euros of fine and thus avoid a six-month sentence that had been imposed on him in March.
The Madrid striker left for Serbian lands during confinement in March. While there, he breached the 14 days of confinement, something mandatory that the Serbian government launched on the population of the Balkan country to stop the COVID-19 pandemic: he was discovered in the streets of Belgrade celebrating the birthday of his girlfriend Sofija Milojevic. Jovic had permission from the white club (there were no training sessions in Valdebebas, but he felt bad within the Madrid board) and that is why he left for the Serbian capital. His behavior felt bad. Even the country's president, Aleksandar Vucic, warned him directly that if he left his home again breaking orders, he would be arrested.
The Serbian authorities imposed a fine of 30,000 euros, something to which the forward refused to pay, which led the Serbian prosecutor's office to open a judicial process that ended with a six-month prison sentence. Now, the forward and the authorities have reached an agreement by which he will pay those 30,000 euros to avoid jail.
