Jota Peleteiro, ex-husband of Jessica Bueno, converts to Islam: this is the footballer's new life

Maximum surprise for the footballer's followers, who has announced a 180-degree turn in his life at 32 years old: he has converted to Islam. Jota Peleteiroex-husband of Jessica Buenomade the decision a few months ago, after spending some time at the home of Kuwaiti Faisal Buresli, one of his best friends.

According to the Al-Qabas portal, Buresli invited Peleteiro to spend some time at his house a year ago and showed him his culture and traditions, with which the footballer said he felt very comfortable. This trip was crucial for Jota, who began to study and research Islam, to which he eventually converted. After the announcement, the footballer has received a multitude of welcome messages: “May Allah fill you with baraka and happiness. What a great blessing to return to your creator one month before the long-awaited Ramadan”, “Welcome to Islam, brother” or “Anything you need, we are here for you.”

Peleteiro and Buresli met more than ten years ago in the United States and were united by their passion for sports. They maintained contact until, in 2023, Jota moved to Kuwait to spend some time studying the market with the intention of expanding his business. He liked the life and customs of his friend so much that he has decided to make them his own. In the video released by Al-Qabas you can see how Jota Peleteiro says a few words in Arabic to process his conversion to Islam, which was also a surprise for his friend: “He hadn't told me anything.”

What is still unknown is the opinion of his ex, Jessica Bueno, about this new decision that affects their children, Jota and Alexander, since Islam must be transmitted to new generations. Nor that of Ajla Etemovicthe Serbian model with whom Peleteiro began a romantic relationship last October.
