Josh Allen claims he fully understood why the Bills fired Ken Dorsey.

Josh Allen claims he fully understood why the Bills fired Ken Dorsey.

After their loss to the Broncos the night before, the Bills dismissed offensive line coach Ken Dorsey on Tuesday.

Josh Allen, the quarterback, said on Wednesday that he is “personally” upset about Buffalo’s move to fire Dorsey.

News outlets asked Allen on Wednesday if the Bills’ better play would have kept Dorsey’s job. He said, “Without a doubt, I’m going to take that very personally,” according to ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg.

New York’s Orchard Park. Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, feels strongly about the team’s choice to fire offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey.

Allen and Dorsey have worked together since 2019. At first, Dorsey was there to coach the quarterbacks.
After another loss in the playoffs to the Cleveland Browns in January 2022, Allen was able to get Dorsey the job as offensive coordinator.

Dorsey was fired on Tuesday by coach Sean McDermott after the team lost the game against the Denver Broncos on Monday and fell to 5-5.

It’s the team’s more difficult winning percentage after more than two contests since 2018, when they went 6-10.

Buffalo is no longer in the running for the playoffs. In Week 11, they play the New York Jets, who beat the Bills in Week 1. Allen said in Wednesday that Dorsey would still be working for the Bills if they had played better.

“Without a doubt, and I take that very personally,” he said. You feel terrible when someone you care about is going through something like that, and you know that we wouldn’t have had to do what we did if you or the enemy could have done more.

“It’s an unfortunate series of occurrences that have led up to it, but, once more, as much as you can sit here and felt sorry for yourself while you can sulk in what’s going on, we got an event to prepare for, and it’s just four days away, so we cannot devote too much attention to it.”

On Monday night, the Bills would have won against the Broncos, but a penalty for having 12 men in the field canceled out a missed field goal with seconds left, giving Denver another chance that led to the 24-22 win.

McDermott said that what happened during the season was what led to the choice to fire Dorsey. To fill in for Dorsey, quarterbacks teacher Joe Brady was chosen as temporary offensive coordinator.

Allen said, “Yes, that’s not a situation you want to find yourself in, especially in the middle of the season.” He said he had talked for McDermott about the reason the move was made.

“I like Dorsey as a person; he’s of the good ones.” He’s been with me in this room for a long time.

I wish him the best of luck in his new job. He was a big part of my work success and I feel like I deserve him a lot.

We certainly don’t need to make that move since we play better together. He played a big role in what we did here over the past few years.

This season, the Bills’ offensive has not lived up to standards and has proven too predictable occasionally, particularly following Week 5.

They are now 2-4 during that time and have only scored 20.5 points per game, down from 34.8 points per game in the initial four weeks.

The number of mistakes per drive has gone up from 12% to 21%, and Allen has the most turnovers in the league with 14.

If I were able to do more, this team could have performed more, and we wouldn’t have had to do what we did, it hurts quite a bit to see a person you care regarding go through that.

Before becoming the offensive coordinator for Buffalo in 2022, Dorsey was the receivers coach. Allen is in his second season joining the league, and he has worked with him since then.

Allen made two picks and lost a fumble as the Bills lost to the Broncos on Monday Night Football. In just two games this season, the 27-year-old hasn’t turned the ball over, which is the fewest in the NFL.
