Josep Maria Albert (Youin): “The electric bicycle is here to stay”

MADRID, 2 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The CEO of the Spanish brand specialized in sustainable mobility products such as bikes and scooters ‘Youin’, Josep Maria Albert, stated that the electric bicycle “has come to stay” as a vehicle to get around the city, and more so after the new habits acquired due to the global pandemic of COVID-19.

The market for electric bicycles in Spain has reached record figures. In 2021, it grew 8.1 percent and sales grew 5.3 percent. “The forecast for this year, according to AMBE, is that, for the first time, the total fleet of electric bicycles on the roads of Spain exceeds one million units. The electric bicycle is here to stay as a vehicle for urban mobility and sports Albert pointed out.

Youin’s CEO explained the company’s philosophy with the slogan ‘NoBullshit Technology’. “Youin understands technology as a necessity that must be within the reach of all people, offering great quality, proximity, design and at a really competitive price. From the R&D department we design lines and ranges of bicycles and electric scooters for each type of user and the moment in which the activity is carried out,” he said.

This is the case of urban e-bikes (You-Ride New York), city bikes (You-Ride Los Angeles), folding bikes (You-Ride Amsterdam, You-Ride Tokyo), FAT (Yoy-Ride Dakar) or bicycles mountain (You-Ride Kilimanjaro, You-Ride Mont Blanc*).

The national brand is committed to transparency and close, easy and personalized customer service. To do this, it applies demanding quality controls in the manufacture of each electric bicycle or scooter and, for any eventual repair or revision, it has more than 100 Youin Service assistance points throughout the country, including the Canary and Balearic Islands.

“Youin products are marketed in Spain through our own ecommerce weareyouin.com and through the main marketplaces (Amazon, PCcomponentes, FNAC, Carrefour, Sprinter, Worten, Ebay). Currently, they can also be purchased in physical stores such as Media Markt, Alcampo, Eldisser Group, Sinersis Group, Segesa Group, Cadena Expert, Cadena Activa”, he reviewed.

On the other hand, Youin has wanted to demonstrate its commitment to the most vulnerable groups, and has established a collaboration with the NGO Bicycles without Borders to allocate 1 percent of its sales to the Bicycles for Education project.

Specifically, it collaborates with the Samba Dia school, located in a rural community in the Fatick region, in Senegal, to bring education closer to students who live far away and have no means of getting around, in order to help change their lives and provide them with a better future.
