José Manuel Calderón signs for the Cavaliers

MADRID, 14 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Former basketball player José Manuel Calderón officially joined the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday as a “special advisor” to the team’s front office, general manager Koby Altman announced.

‘Calde’ retired from the NBA three years ago, after a long and successful career of two decades, 14 seasons in the North American league. The man from Extremadura joins the Ohio franchise as a counselor after working for the NBA Players Association in recent years.

As a player in the best league in the world, the Spanish international spent eight years with the Toronto Raptors, in 2013 he headed for the Detroit Pistons and later also played with the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers and again Pistons, the last club of his career.
