José Manuel Aira: “I want Marbella to be a recognizable team”

José Manuel Aira has been presented as the new Marbella coach in a season that will be decisive for the project of promotion to Second. Héctor Morales, CEO, once again played host. “The entity is very excited about its hiring to face an important and exciting year as well as a difficult one.”

The sports director, Víctor Moreno, recalled that he already coincided with Aira in Albacete, in a project that ended with the promotion to the Second Division And he added that he is one of the “most valued” technicians in the category, who “has little left in Second B and hopefully it will be in our hands.”

And turn for Aira who started talking about the bonds of union with Víctor Moreno. “We are united by the way of understanding this profession, of building, and I think that is what makes us be here together.”

Former coach, David Cubillo. “We are going to extract very positive things. I arrive with the enthusiasm and passion of a new destination with ambitious goals. The path will not be easy ”.

Challenges. I do not come to overcome or be better than anyone. Each coach has his way of working. I bet on meeting the challenges that the club has proposed. I want to establish values, habits to achieve those milestones and fight for the highest levels. ”

Profile of the players you want for the squad. “They must be very strong, that they can repeat continuous efforts, with speed to threaten and overflow and that allow creating the most competitive team possible. I want Marbella to be a recognizable team, one that feels, that identifies with very marked values, of give up personal egos for a collective goal, of empathy, of humility, and then build the idea around the ball and know how to adapt to various types of games. An aggressive team in stealing the ball and protagonist with the ball to threaten continuously to the opposing team. “

Transfers. “It is early to know what the squad will need. We have to do a good analysis of a group that has given a very high performance, but everything can be improved and towards that we have to go, to be demanding to try to be better ”.

At the moment, there is no date for the start of the preseason, since the club is waiting for the Federation to confirm when the start of the League will be. “Based on that, we want six weeks of preparation plus the first week of competition.”

We will also have to adapt to the new competition model. “The urgencies are going to change, because many will want to be in the Second B Pro and many clubs are doing crazy things, we will see in January what can happen if they cannot fulfill what they promise now.”
