The coach José Luis Pichel, who led Carplus Fuenlabrada on an interim basis in the last four days of the Endesa League, has been confirmed as coach of the Madrid team until the end of the season, the Fuenlabreño club announced on Tuesday.
“Carplus Fuenlabrada and José Luis Pichel have taken advantage of the competitive break offered this week by the Endesa League to seal the agreement under which the coach will lead the team as head coach until the end of this season,” the entity announced.
Pichel, who has lived these last four days accompanied by Salva Guardia as an assistant coach, is now living his sixth year in Fuenlabrada Basketball, during which time he has trained young people from Fuenlabrada in the cadet, junior, 1st National and EBA League categories, some of them combining two teams. In addition, he led the first subsidiary to the title of champion of Spain in the EBA League 2021.
Last season he also assumed the position of assistant coach of the ACB team. This same course, he took command of the team after the dismissal of Josep Maria Raventós in mid-October, and has achieved three victories in four games.
