Jorge Javier denies his foray into politics: “I have not received any proposal from the PSOE”

Own Jorge Javier Vazquez has fueled this Thursday the rumor that he could be a candidate for mayor of Madrid for the PSOE. This information has gained strength because his future at Mediaset, with the departure of Paolo Vasile of the group, is uncertain. However, hours later and seeing the commotion he had generated, he clarified that it was all a joke: “I have not received any proposal from the socialist party.”

The presenter has used his program Save me to explain everything: “They are speaking very clearly, that nobody knows what future employment we are going to have. One has to take measures and commit,” he began. “Because of the love I have for my city, because I am a very committed person, because I respect politics, and because I believe that everything is politics and because politics is everywhere… First: I solemnly swear not to have received any proposal from the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party to be mayor of Madrid. And second: if they proposed it to me, I would not accept it under any circumstances. I am not qualified, because I love my city very much and it seems to me that it is something very serious to present myself and lead a list.

It was Carlos Alsina, from Catalunya Radio first thing in the morning, who launched the ‘news’: “Carlos Alsina, I have to deny you, I’m very sorry,” said Jorge Javier. “For now… Tomorrow who knows, I take politics too seriously to accept something like that.”

The proposal did not seem entirely crazy considering that the Catalan’s militancy in social networks has been gaining strength in recent weeks. Vázquez has turned his account into a speaker for the left and has become an annoying fly for the PP,especially for Ayuso: “I have proposed to Mónica García (leader of Más Madrid) that we rent the Zendal to celebrate Eurovision 2023. Let’s see if any of the millions (150) that were wasted to build that garage that is astonishing the world can be recovered,” said a few days ago.
