Jorge Cuenca leaves Rayo frozen

A goal by Jorge Cuenca in the last minute of added time allowed Almería to beat Rayo in Vallecas, in a match in which the Madrid team added their first defeat of the season at home and played for fifty minutes with one less due to expulsion from the side Peruvian law Luis Advíncula.

The match started with two opposing strategies. That of Rayo trying to take the offensive initiative of the game and that of Almería advancing their lines to seek prominence and make the ball out for their rival uncomfortable.

At 26 minutes Luis Advíncula was sent off with a direct red for a stomp on Umar Sadiq and left Rayo with ten players. His coach, Andoni Iraola, moved the bench and put the young winger Mario Hernández on the pitch to secure the defensive line.

With one less, the one who came closest to scoring before the break was Rayo with a header from Isi Palazón, just off a corner on the right side, which went wide.

Three minutes after the restart, Almería was able to open the scoring with a shot from the front of Morlanes that crashed into the crossbar and gave way to a few minutes of dominance by the Andalusian team, who took advantage of their superiority to move the ball from side to side and make your rival run.

Forces were equalized in the 78th minute, when Nigerian forward Umar Sadiq, who just before made an individual play that ended with a cross shot that deflected Dimitrievski to a corner, was sent off with a double warning.

With the same players on the pitch, Rayo took a step forward and, in the final minutes, sought the goal more insistently than Almería, who, however, scored on the last play of the match, in added time. with a header from Jorge Cuenca after a corner kick.
