Jorge Cuenca, central Madrid of the Getafe, declared this Tuesday that he is “very happy” with the season he is living in the Azulón team, with which they will “fight to the maximum the three points” of the next league match against Sevilla.
Cuenca arrived at Getafe last summer on loan from Villarreal and so far this season he has played 16 league games, all but one as a starter.
“I’m very happy for the reception and the treatment they have given me since I arrived, so let’s keep fighting, this is only the beginning, “said Cuenca, awarded the Getafe ‘Five Star Player’ award for the month of December.
The Madrid center-back has earned the trust of his coach, Quique Sánchez Flores, and has become one of the fixtures in Getafe’s tactical scheme.
“We carry five clean sheets of the last six games and that’s the way. We are happy, working and polishing what we do wrong, because there are things to work on. This is incredible, and more as the afternoon started, “he said.
The next day Getafe visits the Sánchez Pizjuán to face Sevilla, second classified with 41 points, five behind the leader, Real Madrid.
“We are going for the three points in every game. Let’s fight it to the max and we are not thinking that we are going to lose, “he concluded.
