Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman, leaders in the Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofía Mallorca

MADRID, 6 Apr. (SportsFinding) –

The couple formed by Jordi Xammar and Nora Brugman completed their progression and reached the lead this Wednesday on the third day of the 51st Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofía Mallorca, which is being disputed in the waters of the bay of Palma, in the 470 mixed class.

The Mallorcan tournament passed the halfway point of its regatta program this Wednesday with the leadership of the Barcelona tandem, which won two victories out of two possible ones. Xammar and Brugman won a seven-point lead over the boat that went into the water as the leader, that of the Italians Giacomo Ferrari and Bianca Caruso, who did not know how to adapt to the conditions and added a fourth and a sixth. The French Kevin Peponnet and Aloise Retornaz signed the second best card of the day (2+3) and are third.

For her part, in the female category of Formula Kite Women, Frenchwoman Lauriane Nolot was intractable in the three races held: she added three partial wins and is the new leader, with a tight lead over British Ellie Aldridge (second) and comfortable over the French Poem Newland (third). The Spanish Gisela Pulido occupies the ninth position.

In the men’s category of this new Olympic class, the Slovenian Toni Vodisek and the French Theo De Ramecourt and Benoit Gomez lead, tied on points. The best ranked Spaniard is Alejandro Climent, twenty-second.

In addition, the second day of competition for 49er and 49erFX was resolved with two tests in each class. In the men’s category, the Cantabrian Diego Botín and the Catalan Florian Trittel scored a sixth and a fifth, enough performance to ascend to the fourth provisional position and tie on points with the third. The French tandem formed by Erwan Fischer and Clément Pequin (15+2 today) continues to lead.

In 49erFX, the Dutch Odile Van Aanholt/Annette Duetz defend the lead and now lead by the minimum of the Brazilian double Olympic champions Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze. The Spaniards Patricia Suárez/María Cantero signed a fourth and a sixth that allow them to climb five places and enter the long-awaited ‘top ten’ of the category.

At Nacra 17, the reigning Olympic champions, the Italians Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti, are in charge, and they continue to be the rival to beat. This Wednesday they added a second and a first, and lead their compatriots Gianluigi Ugolini and Maria Giubilei by six points (10-3 today).

In addition, in iQFOiL Women the hegemony of the current world and continental champion, the French Hélène Noesmoen (1+5+1 today), continues, while the Sevillian Pilar Lamadrid went from less to more, and said goodbye by winning the last round to remember her rivals her status as a serious candidate for the title. She remains fourth after ten tests. In the men’s category, the Dutch Luuc Van Opzeeland and Amado Vrieswijk, and the British Andrew Brown lead tied.

In ILCA 7, German Philipp Buhl capitalized on victory in the second heat of the day to move one point behind the leader, who remains Frenchman Jean-Baptiste Bernaz. In ILCA 6 Sarah Douglas also retains the lead despite adding a painful off-line in the first heat of the day.
