Jordi Roger, new coach of Atlético Baleares

The 41-year-old Catalan coach, Jordi Roger, is the new coach of Atlético Baleares. The new blue and white coach replaces the Basque Manix Mandiola in office that in two and a half years saved the Balearic Islands from relegation to Third in the first season and made him regular league champion for two consecutive seasons in two different groups, group III the first year and group I the second.

In both cases, he did not exceed the promotion playoff, neither in the championship tie nor in the play-off. The new tenant hired for two seasons by the German president and owner, Ingo Volckmann, trained as a technician in the lower categories of Cornellà, a club in which he led the promotion from Third to Second B in the 2013-14 season. He was in charge of the Catalan team for four seasons.

Later, he signed for the Linense Balompédica where he spent a season and a half being dismissed in the second campaign. Now he arrives at the Palma club accompanied by his assistant Xavi Calm and the physical trainer Jesús Estrada. Roger will be officially presented next Friday.
