MADRID, 24 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The national handball coach, Jordi Ribera, valued the still ideal situation of depending on themselves to achieve the ticket to the semifinals of the 2022 European Championship, after falling to Norway this Sunday fighting “until the last moment”.
“Very happy with the team, despite not being well, the team has not lost its composure and we have fought until the last moment. It is clear that Norway has played well, that they have a great team and have adapted well to the Championship”, he pointed out in statements provided by the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM).
Ribera recognized the superiority of Norway in the ascending line in the tournament but recalled that with a victory against Poland, which is not at stake, on Tuesday, they will be in the semifinals for the sixth consecutive European Championship.
“Before the start of the European Championship, we would all have liked to be in this situation where we could play for qualification in the last game and we are going to take advantage of that opportunity and try to qualify for the semifinals,” he concluded.
