Jordi Ribera takes the European Championship from the 18 'Hispanics' of the International Tournament in Spain

MADRID, 7 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish men's handball coach, Jordi Ribera, has called up the 18 players he had for the 2024 International Tournament in Spain for the European Championship in Germany, the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM) announced this Sunday.

The Catalan coach, who on December 30 ruled out the right back Petar Cikusa and the pivot Javi Rodríguez for the TIE dispute, has not made any rulings nor has he offered any news and thus trusts in the men who offered good sensations and won the tournament held in Granollers (Barcelona).

“The tournament has been a great test for us, and from now on the most important thing is next Friday's match against Croatia, which is a pretty tough entry into the competition,” said Ribera. “It is a shared responsibility for us and for them. We have to think that the European Championship is very long. And yes, whoever wins will have a small advantage, there is no doubt,” he added.

However, this does not modify the philosophy of the Sarrià de Ter coach. “For us nothing changes, we are going to continue preparing the games to hit the court at 100%, and we know that after this game another one will come,” he stressed.

The 'Hispanos' will travel on Wednesday to the town of Mannheim, home of their group in the first phase, and on Friday they will make their debut against Croatia (8:30 p.m.). The European Championship will be held from January 10 to 28 in Germany.
