Jordi Ribera gives the list of ‘Hispanics’ for the Cuenca Tournament

The Spanish team will face Japan, Iran and Poland from January 6 to 8

The national handball coach, Jordi Ribera, has made public this Thursday the list of the ‘Hispanics’ to face the second stage of preparation for the European Championship in Slovakia and Hungary 2022, which will take place from January 2 to 9 in Cuenca .

In this phase, the ‘Hispanics’ will play, from January 6 to 8 in the Pabellón El Sargal Cuenca, the International Tournament of Spain 2022, where they will face Japan, Iran and Poland in their last friendlies prior to the continental event.

The call is made up of goalkeepers Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas (Barça), Rodrigo Corrales (Telekom Veszprém) and Sergey Hernández (SL Benfica); the central Agustín Casado (Logroño La Rioja), Ian Tarrafeta (PAUC Handball); the right backs Jorge Maqueda (Telekom Veszprém), Eduardo Gurbindo (Dinamo Bucuresti); and the left wingers Antonio García (Fraikin Granollers), Chema Márquez (Fraikin Granollers) and Joan Cañellas (Kadetten Schaffhausen).

The wingers Ferran Solé (PSG Handball), Aleix Gómez (Barça), Kauldi Odriozola (Bidasoa Irun), Ángel Fernández (Barça), Aitor Ariño (Barça); defensive specialist Miguel Sánchez-Migallón (Lomza Vive Kielce); and the pivots Adriá Figueras (Chartres Métropole Handball), Gdeón Guardiola (TBV Lemgo Lippe) and Iñaki Peciña (PAUC Handball).

The players are summoned on January 2 in Cuenca, where they will carry out double training sessions to continue preparing both the three friendlies of the International Tournament of Spain and the European Championship, in which the Hispanics defend the title.

At the end of the International Tournament in Spain, Jordi Ribera will offer the definitive list of players who will play the European Championship in Slovakia and Hungary 2022.

In the International Tournament of Spain, Hispanics will play against Japan, Iran and Poland, on January 6, 7 and 8, at the same time, 8:30 p.m.
