Jonas Vingegaard breaks the Dauphiné on offense

BARCELONA, 8 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) won the fifth stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné on Thursday, held between Cormoranche-sur-Saône and Salins-les-Bains over 191.1 kilometers, in an exhibition thinking about the next Tour de France What is it worth to become the leader of the general classification.

The peloton caught the breakaway of the day at the last point, 17 kilometers from the finish, and right there Richard Carapaz (EF) attacked, who was caught by Vingegaard’s wheel and, shortly after, attacked him and left the Ecuadorian seated. The Dane, in this Dauphiné, which is a preview of the Tour -of which he is the current champion-, showed that he was in great shape and left the race almost doomed.
