Jon Rahm, the winner of the Masters, says switching to LIV Golf is “a great opportunity.”

After US PGA champion Brooks Koepka, the Spaniard is going to become the second active major champion on the LIV circuit.

Rahm provided an explanation for his choice in a press conference call on Thursday, following extensive reports earlier this week that he was about to finalize a contentious departure from the PGA Tour.

Rahm stated, “I feel like there will be people who agree and like every decision we make in life and people who don’t.”

“I think this is the wisest course of action for my family and me, therefore I made it. Since everyone I’ve been able to speak with has been so supportive, I feel quite at ease with my choice.

World No. 3 said, “I’m used to hearing some nasty comments on social media or from the media. We are public people, so it’s just part of the job, but you just have to learn how to handle it, right? Without a doubt, this won’t define or alter who I am.

The 29-year-old Rahm continued in an official statement that followed. I’m excited to be a part of something fresh that is advancing the game of golf by joining LIV Golf.

With a question, this is a fantastic opportunity for my family and me, and I am eager for what lies ahead.

Before last week, the Steelers appeared to be guaranteed a spot in the postseason since they had back-to-back games against teams with two wins.

However, the Steelers were defeated 24-10 by the Cardinals on Sunday and 21-18 by the Patriots four days later.

In a duel of backup quarterbacks, the Patriots, who were 2-10 prior to Thursday, had nothing to lose. They outperformed the Steelers. Pittsburgh was outgained 303 to 264.

After taking over for Mac Jones for the second time in a row, Bailey Zappe completed 19 of 28 passes for 240 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception. With 196 yards plus three touchdowns in the initial half, he was the main culprit.

Ezekiel Elliott gained 68 yards by rushing on 22 carries, while JuJu Smith-Schuster gained 90 yards by catching four passes.

However, that would be the Patriots’ last point of the game, as they clung to victory from that point on.

Late in the 3rd quarter, Mykal Walker intercepted Trubisky, setting up a fourth-and-two situation for the Steelers against the New England 8. They avoided a field goal, as Jaylen Warren was halted on a Trubisky ball just shy of the line of scrimmage.

The Steelers punt coverage unit believed they had caused Jahlani Tavai to go offsides in fourth-and-three with 5:06 left in the game.

However, Christian Kuntz, the long snapper, was fined by the officials for a snap penalty. Pittsburgh did not agree with the call made by the officials.

With 2:01 remaining, the Steelers had their last good opportunity. Trubisky attempted to target Diontae Johnson deep as they faced a fourth and two at their own 49. It was an overthrow by Trubisky.

The sportsbooks in Las Vegas did not predict that this game would end in points. While this TNF matchup was undoubtedly not an offensive masterwork, it did surpass a historically lowest total of 30… in the first half.

That was mostly because of the Patriots, who opened the game with a 21-3 lead with 7:38 remaining in the first half, scoring more than 20 points on their first attempt since October 22.

Even with former No. 2 overall pick Mitchell Trubisky starting at quarterback, the Steelers were unable to complete the comeback.

If not for the Patriots’ own problems, which in this game featured a blocked punt that put Pittsburgh on the 26-yard line down 21-10, they probably wouldn’t have even been in it.

Pittsburgh managed to punch it in and convert it for a two-point score, but it was unable to reach the red zone once more.

Pittsburgh gained 264 yards on only four yards per play, and the home crowd jeered the offense several times during the game.

Trubisky finished the game with 22-for-35 for 190 yards. His first-half interception immediately resulted in a Patriots touchdown, which placed the Steelers behind 14-3.
