Joaquin Sanchez, captain of Real Betis, has taken advantage of the fact that he enjoyed rest this Tuesday to participate in the filming of the movie ‘Neighborhood Heroes’, the second feature film by Cádiz-born director Ángeles Reiné, which is being filmed in the town of Alcalá de Guadaíra, very close to the Sevillian capital.
Joaquin interprets himself in this family comedy in which a father (played by Antonio Pagudo, known for his participation in the series 'La que se avecina'), who is not doing well, tries to regain the affection of his daughter (Luna Fulgencio, from 'Padre no hay más que uno') who is a player of a children's soccer team that dreams of meeting Joaquin and it is the wish that his father fulfills by pretending to be a good friend of the portuense.
The cast is completed by actors such as Antonio Dechent, Álex O’Dogherty, Lisi Linder or Jesús Olmedo, among others. Almost everyone who takes part in this film, which will also be shot in the capital Seville, is Andalusian. Ángeles Reiné is the director and screenwriter and her debut as a director of a feature film was in 2019 with the comedy ‘Salir del closet’.
The movie is produced by Antonio Pérez -Real Betis partner- for Spal Films, Eduardo Campoy and Eduardo Galdo de Álamo producciones and Galdo Media, with AIE Palacios Gador. It has the collaboration of ICAA, the Junta de Andalucía and Canal Sur and will be distributed by A Contracorriente Films.
