João Félix already runs and touches the ball

Atlético had a rest day today, although it was not for all footballers. Several players attended Majadahonda, among them Felipe and João Félix, who follow their particular injury recovery processes. The good news for Simeone is that the Portuguese forward already runs and touches the ball, although this does not imply that he will play the first LaLiga match against Celta. The Atlético forward could have his first minutes in the next match, against Elche, at the Wanda Metropolitano.

João Félix jumped onto the pitch with one of the Madrid team's recuperators. The Portuguese started jogging smoothly and later did some running. Always in a very gentle way and without forcing. Later, he already began to touch the ball, although he was driving the ball. He did not make long movements of the ball or changes in orientation. It was a half-hour session on the pitch, although I had previously done work in the gym.

The Portuguese striker had surgery on his right ankle on July 2. The operation was in Porto and João Félix's intention was to be available for the first league match. In principle it will not be like that, although the idea is that he can help the Madrid team before the new national team break. The Atlético player will progressively increase his workload and it will be necessary to see how he feels when he has more training sessions.

At Atlético there is total confidence in João Félix's performance for this season. The Portuguese will play his third season in the Wanda Metropolitano entity. In the year 20-21 he played 40 games and scored ten goals (seven in LaLiga and three in the Champions League). And gave six assists, all in league competition.
