Joan Jordán will be in “home observation” after a “cranioencephalic trauma”

Sevilla “condemns the violent act” and asks for respect for its footballer after an “infamous attack”

MADRID, 16 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Sevilla condemned the “violent act” suffered by its player Joan Jordán and reported that he was taken to a hospital after suffering the impact of an object thrown from the Benito Villamarín stands, diagnosed with a “cranioencephalic trauma” for which he will be in observation for at least 24 hours.

“The club condemns the violent act that Joan Jordán has suffered today, an unacceptable act in the world of sport. Sevilla FC wants to transfer all its love to Joan Jordán, who fortunately, and without a doubt that is the only important thing, is at his home, after being hit by an object thrown from the local stands during the derby,” says the club’s statement.

The Sevilla team reported the condition of their player around 2 in the morning, who was hit by a bar thrown from the stands, an action that ended up suspending the Copa del Rey round of 16 match between Betis and Sevilla.

“Joan left Benito Villamarín sensibly dazed and was taken to the hospital, where he was examined and a series of tests were carried out according to the protocol due to the concussion. The final diagnosis is head trauma and the player will remain under observation at home until for a minimum period of 24 hours to pass without alarm symptoms”, he adds.

“Sevilla FC condemns the violent act that Joan Jordán has suffered today, an unacceptable act in the world of sport committed by an individual who, of course, does not represent the Real Betis fans or the way of living football in our city”, he adds, before asking for respect for Jordán, questioned on social networks by several Betis players about his dizziness.

“Likewise, the club wants to ask for the greatest respect for the figure of Joan Jordán, a professional with integrity and an exemplary person who has suffered an infamous attack,” he concludes.
