Jiménez, the youngest to debut with Granada in First

The match played by Pomegranate
this Sunday in the field of Real Sociedad (2-0) served so that the goalkeeper Angel Jimenez became the youngest footballer to debut with the rojiblanco club in the First Division, beating the Venezuelan Adalberto Peñaranda.

Ángel, who is part of the youth Granada squad that plays in the Honor Division, made his debut in LaLiga Santander at 18 years, four months and 16 days, surpassing the precocious record that Venezuelan Adalberto had in his possession for five years. Peñaranda.

The vinotinto attacker made his debut for Granada in Primera in November 2015, under the guidance of coach José Ramón Sandoval, when he was 18 years, five months and 21 days old.

Ángel was summoned for the first time with the first team and had to play the whole game due to the difficulties of the rojiblancos to complete the call due to the Covid-19 cases existing in their squad. Added to that was LaLiga's imposition of not being able to use footballers who were part of the expedition during the week to Cyprus for the Europa League, unless they already had coronavirus antibodies in their body.

The two goalkeepers of the first team, the Portuguese Rui Silva and Aarón Escandell, traveled to Cyprus and also the two goals of the subsidiary, the Portuguese Joao Paulo Santos 'Andorinha' and Arnau Fábrega, which forced the ownership of Ángel.

However, both Andorinha and Arnau, along with Raúl Torrente, who also traveled to Cyprus, were part of Recreativo Granada's squad that faced Córdoba in a league match, and the first two participated in the clash.

In addition to Ángel, seven more players made their LaLiga Santander debut with Granada against Real Sociedad, all of them under 23 years of age and belonging to Recreativo, which plays in Segunda B.

These players were Sergio Barcia, the Ghanaian Kingsley Fobi, the Argentine Juan Brunet, Dani Plomer, Álvaro Bravo, Pepe Sánchez and Isma Ruiz, although the last two had already had minutes with the first team in other competitions.
