Jesús Muñoz: “It is a point to continue growing”

The second coach of the Elche CF, Jesus Muñoz, affirmed after the tie against Real Madrid (1-1), that the added point should help his team to continue growing in the competition.

“The idea was to compete well and it is to congratulate the players,” said the coach, who led the team in place of Argentine Jorge Almirón, confined after testing positive for covid-19.

Muñoz indicated that the Elche, who has already accumulated nine games in a row without winning, could even add the three points if he had taken advantage of any occasion in the second half and appreciated that his players “did not lower their arms” when he had the score against.

“Now we have to keep improving and think about the next game,” said Muñoz, who once again praised the defensive work and the help of his players to stop Madrid.

“We knew the team in front of us and we have made a commendable effort that has given us the fruit of winning a point. And with the feeling that it could be something else, “he said.
