Jérémy Doku, new reinforcement for Manchester City

MADRID, 25 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Belgian striker Jérémy Doku signed this Thursday as a new Manchester City player, a five-year deal as the English champion’s third signing after Croatians Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol.

“Manchester City are delighted to announce the signing of Jérémy Doku from Stade Rennais on a five-year deal,” City said on their official website.

The European champion celebrates the acquisition of the 21-year-old forward, one of the pearls of continental football, an international with Belgium and with experience in the Champions League.

Doku began his career with Anderlecht, making his debut for the club’s first team in 2018 at the age of 16, before joining Stade Rennais in the fall of 2020. In total, he made 92 appearances for the French Ligue 1 side in all competitions, adding 12 goals and 10 assists.

“This is a great day for me, both on a personal and professional level. Manchester City is the best team in world football, so coming here is something very special for me and my family,” he said in his first statements.

“I’m a young player with a lot to learn and improve. Working with Pep and his staff and playing with the best footballers will help me raise my level. I’m sure of that. Watching City last season was incredible. Winning the treble is what more difficult in football and they succeeded”, he added.
