Jenni Hermoso stands up to Rubiales after her embarrassing press conference: “I did not consent to the kiss he gave me”

The protagonist (much to her regret) of the World Cup controversy has stepped forward this Friday to categorically deny the words of rubiales at a press conference. The president of the RFEF has refused to resign because of the kiss that he stamped on Jenni Beautiful during the final in Australia assuring that “he was spoiled” and that she brought him closer to her body and lifted him up. Now, the champion speaks loud and clear: “I want to clarify that, as seen in the images, at no time did I consent to the kiss that he gave me and, of course, in no case did I seek to raise the president.”

In said statement, provided through the FutPro union, Jenni is outraged: “I do not tolerate that my word is questioned, much less that words are invented that I have not said.”

Hermoso’s words come only a few hours after the embarrassing press conference given by Luis Rubiales. The president refuses to leave his post and dismisses what happened as a campaign of “false feminism” against him. “I am not going to resign,” he said convinced. “I want to say that whoever sees the video, in front of 80,000 people, in front of millions of people on television, in front of part of my family and my daughters, the desire they could have in that kiss was the same as giving it to one of my daughters. No there is no desire, no position of dominance. False feminism is a scourge of this country. It was spoiled. This player missed a penalty. She picked me up, we hugged and I told her to forget about the penalty and she told me that it was a crack , and I gave him a peck and he said ‘okay’.

Some “unacceptable” facts

Jenni Hermoso has already spoken about what happened last Wednesday. “From our association we ask the Royal Spanish Football Federation to implement the necessary protocols, ensure the rights of our players and adopt exemplary measures,” said the Futpro statement at the time. “It is essential that our team is represented by figures who project their values of equality and respect in all areas. It is necessary to continue advancing in the fight for equality, a fight that our players have led with determination, leading us to the position in the that we find ourselves today”.

And he finished: “From the union we are working so that acts like the ones we have seen never go unpunished, are sanctioned and the pertinent measures are adopted to protect soccer players from actions that we believe are unacceptable.”
