Jayden Daniels wins Heisman, Dillon Gabriel transfers to Oregon & chaos in the Dakotas

Jayden Daniels wins the Heisman, Dillon Gabriel moves to Oregon, and the Dakotas are in chaos.

On Saturday night, Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger, and SI’s Pat Forde talked about why they thought LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels won the Heisman Trophy this year.

The guys talk about how they voted for the prize and why Daniels stood out as the best choice on a board that was already full.

In news from the transfer portal, Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel is going west because he has chosen to move to Oregon.

As Bo Nix did when he got a new start under Dan Lanning, Gabriel wants to do the same. Kyle McCord is going to Nebraska or Riley Leonard is going to Notre Dame. The other top quarterbacks still in the gate are starting to make their rounds.

Coach Prime and Colorado are busy since the end of the regular season in other places. They are getting a lot of offensive players in the draft and signed 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton.

The guys talk about Matt Entz, a linebacker coach at North Dakota State, being hired by USC as their next linebackers coach.

They also talk about NDSU fans finding the password for the ticket portal for a game towards South Dakota and getting tickets that were meant for South Dakota’s boosters.

At the end of the show, Pat talks about his top all three college football plays which were later ruled wrong, and The People’s Court hears a case about an inmate driver who went bad.

But the Bruins tried to move on quickly with little practice time before their game against Boise State in Saturday at SoFi Stadium. Defensive line coach Ikaika Malloe will call the plays.

“We’re so driven through each other on defense and as a team.” Medrano said, “It’s not always a coach which drives us from day to day.” “We intend to help each other.” Kelly told him, “To be honest, I don’t understand the noise.”

The Bruins attempt to protect themselves from fans who are getting more and more upset with Kelly’s plan for the team.

UCLA lost three games in November and ended the season 7–5, with loss at home to Arizona State and California that made them feel bad.

Fans have put up signs all over the Wasserman Football Center calling over Kelly to be fired, but the coach didn’t seem to care.

The sixth-year coach said that if the Bruins beat Boise State, they will have their eighth win.

This is only the second time since Terry Donahue’s time in charge that UCLA has had eight wins during three straight seasons.

Some people will say that Kelly’s Bruins haven’t done well because they haven’t played in a big bowl game, challenged for the Pac-12 title, or won a postseason game. Kelly’s record at UCLA is still 34–34.

When cornerback John Humphrey, safeties Williams Nimmo Jr. and Kamari Ramsey all go through the transfer portal, it leaves the Bruins with a big hole in their defensive backfield.

However, redshirt junior Ethan Garbers should be fully healthy for the bowl game after hurting his arm in the last game of the regular season against Cal.

Carson Steele, the team’s leading rusher, was also unavailable at practice on Monday during the viewing time. The Ball State transfer has one year of eligibility left, but he hasn’t said if he plans to switch schools again.
