The former Spanish cyclist Javier Ruiz de Larrinaga presented this Thursday his new project, his cyclocross team ‘Bertako igogailuak-Spiuk’, intended mainly for training and in which he will try to “contribute all the experience acquired” during his career in this sport.
“Each kid has the chance to do well and with the desire that they are showing, we will surely be able to meet the most ambitious objectives. We will try to contribute all the experience acquired during the years that I was active, so that they can carry it out during the competitions that begin this same weekend in the Cup
of Spain of Gijón,” said Ruiz de Larrinaga in statements provided by his press department.
This new team is made up of six cyclists, four boys and two girls, three youth players and three U-23s, who will try to achieve the best possible result in their category and with an approach focused on having continuity for the next three seasons. Furthermore, the objective is for them to have a much easier future in the discipline and to direct their professional future without forgetting their studies.
The components of the ‘Bertako igogailuak-Spiuk’ are Nahia Garcia (1st year youth), Arkaitz Suso (1st year youth), Asier Beraza (2nd year youth), Beñat Fernandez de la Peña (Under-23 1st year) , Gorka Corres (Under-23 1st year) and Maria Modenes (Under-23 2nd year).
“As it could not be less, I want to thank all the sponsors who are here today, without whom this project would not be possible and I want to emphasize that not only have they supported me now, but that part of them have bet on me, even when competed,” stressed Ruiz de Larrinaga, who celebrated that Bertako Ascensores, Spiuk, Naturbero, Cube and the Basque Government are going to make it possible for the boys to focus on their sporting side.
