Javi Gracia, new manager of Leeds United

MADRID, 21 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The English Leeds United announced this Tuesday the hiring as the new coach of the Spanish Javi Gracia, who comes to replace the American Jesse Marsch, dismissed two weeks ago due to the delicate situation of a team that is penultimate in the Premier League table.

The Navarrese, whose contract is pending the relevant work permit and who has been out of work since leaving Al-Sadd in Qatar last year, returns to the English championship, where he already shone at the helm of Watford, which he even led to the final of the FA Cup for the 2018-2019 season.

“Leeds United are pleased to announce that the club have reached an agreement with Javi Gracia to become the first manager of the men’s team, subject to obtaining a work permit. The experienced 52-year-old has agreed a flexible contract at Elland Road,” said Leeds United, who hope the Spaniard can sit on the bench for Saturday’s league game against Southampton at home.
