Jasikevicius: “Why not win in Madrid? We have to fight to the death”

BARCELONA, 16 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Barça’s coach, Sarunas Jasikevicius, assured that they can win at the WiZink Center and, at the very least, bring the Endesa League Playoff final back to the Palau Blaugrana, after Wednesday’s victory against Real Madrid (71- 69) to even the series.

“Why not win in Madrid? We have to fight to the death, with blood if we are looking for big words. This is how it is. You have to die on the pitch, there is no other way. We are all touched, Barça and Madrid, the people are very tired and whoever has more courage and a cool head will survive,” he said at a press conference.

Despite the marriage, the Blaugrana coach asks for one last effort. “We have fought for ten months, we have six days left. We have seen an incredible battle today. Things can come out better or worse, but you have to fight,” he repeated.

“The boys have come out this time with energy and have known how to fight. That’s it. We have to go further if we want to win in Madrid. Both teams know how to suffer and the small details are going to decide everything. We have to fight to the death and have into account a lot of details”, the Lithuanian delved into his idea.

Of the victory, he stressed that his team “always reacts.” “I see the team worried but with a good attitude. We started 2-12, this can happen at any moment of the game, and we found our bench and their energy. The second quintet entered with great speed, moving the ball. energy and the bosses joined”, he valued.

“Congratulating our fans and our boys, it has been a great effort, very different from that of 48 hours ago. Thank the Palau, that when things are like this these moments are less difficult for the team, and that connection has helped us in moments important, when we were worse,” he said, referring to the defeat with which they opened the final.

As for Mirotic, Barça’s best player with 26 points, he assured that he showed “once again” that he is “clearly one of the leaders” of the team. “He has played many minutes and suffered a lot, but now is the time for the greats and he, in a very large part, has led us to 1-1. It’s time to recover, go to Madrid and try to win the third game,” he concluded. .
