Jakic keeps his promise with Modric

Eintracht Frankfurt, supported by thousands of fans in the stands, conquered the Camp Nou. The Germans got rid of FC Barcelona (2-3) and registered their name among the four semifinalists of the Europa League. And as the joy goes through neighborhoods, while in Barcelona they lamented the unexpected European elimination of their team, in Madrid there were those who celebrated the victory of the Germans as if it were an Eintracht fan.

“Bravo. Promise kept” was the comment left by Luka Modric on Kristijan Jakic’s last post on his Instagram profile, in which the Eintracht Frankfurt player celebrated reaching the semifinals of the Europa League after leaving the Blaugrana team behind. In said publication, accompanied by three images, the Croatian wrote: “This is Frankufrt’s Eintracht. SEMIFINALS!!!! A special thanks to the fans who traveled, supported and believed in us!”.

And it is that the midfielder of the German box, teammate of the Real Madrid player, announced in an interview to Sports News who spoke with Luka Modrić before the return match played at the Camp Nou, “and at one point he told me ‘you have to beat Barcelona!'”. So, Jakic’s response to the white player was: “‘Captain, I promise you we will win!’. Later, on Instagram, the Eintracht Frankfurt player also replied to his compatriot’s comment: “The moment the game ended, I immediately thought of you. Thank you very much, captain.”
