Jaka Lakovic extends his contract as coach of Gran Canaria until 2025

MADRID, 9 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

CB Gran Canaria announced this Thursday that it has extended for another year the contract signed with its current coach, the Slovenian Jaka Lakovic, who joined the Endesa League team last June in which he will now remain until 2025.

The former point guard landed on the island from the German ratiopharm Ulm and signed an agreement with ‘Granca’ for two seasons, but his good work so far in the first season has led the club to place its trust in him to cement the new project.

Under the direction of the 44-year-old Slovenian coach, Gran Canaria is ranked seventh in the Endesa League with a record of 13-8 and leads its Eurocup group with 12-3, having already won a ticket to the playoffs. In addition, he qualified the Claretian team for the last Copa del Rey, where he was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Lenovo Tenerife.
