Jaissie: “I had never experienced a game with four penalties”

The Salzburg coach, the German Matthias Jaissle, assured that he is leaving Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán “a little upset for not having won” against Sevilla on the first matchday in group G of the Champions League, although he stressed that the 1-1 “is a great result” for his team.

“If someone had said before the game that we would take a point from here, we absolutely would have signed it. The way this young team performed makes me very proud, “said Jaissle on the wheel.

The young manager of Salzburg, the Austrian champion, acknowledged that “He had never experienced a game with four penalties” like the one that took place in the Sevilla field and that is why it causes him “annoying having missed two” maximum penalties that could have “given victory” to his team, although he stressed that he is extremely “happy with the performance of the players.”

For his part, Swiss goalkeeper Philipp Köhn agreed at the end of the game with his coach, stating that if “he had been offered a draw in Seville before the game, he would also have signed it.”

Adeyemi: “In the first half, we didn't have possession but we did have opportunities”

Karim Adeyemi, Salzburg's German striker who received three penalties on the Sevilla field this Tuesday, highlighted “the many opportunities” his team had “in the first half” despite not having “as much ball possession as usual.”

“What can I say about the three penalties?” Adeyemi wondered in the mixed zone after the match. “I did not score the first and there were no discussions after the second”, transformed by the Croatian Luka Sucic, so that “the third, definitely, he had to throw again,” said the one who was designated the best footballer of the match, who ended 1-1.

The German international regretted not being able to win in the second half, despite the numerical superiority due to the expulsion of Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri, because the Sevilla players “defended themselves with six or seven behind and that complicated everything”, since the players of the Spanish team “are big and strong.”

“In general, it was a good game and we can be satisfied with the point achieved,” said Adeyemi.
