Jade Boho: “There is racism in Spanish football and anywhere in the world”

MADRID, 24 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Guinean soccer player Jade Boho, striker for Alhama CF El Pozo, stated on Tuesday that “there is racism in Spanish soccer and in any part of the world”, alluding to the complaints made by Real Madrid for the insults received last Sunday by the Brazilian Vinicius Jr., during a match in the Valencia CF field.

“There is racism in Spanish football and there is racism in any part of the world. I don’t know why it seems that now it is only in Spain where these things happen and it is not true. In other words, there is racism in all parts of the world” , declared Jade after the defeat of her team (0-4) against Atlético de Madrid in the semifinals of the Copa de la Reina.

“It’s more palpable in some fields than in others… well, depending on your people, right? But I don’t think it’s a one-time thing, that it’s only in Spain where these things happen. I don’t see it as fair, wow”, indicated the Alhama striker after confirming his retirement from professional football.

Thus, Jade decided to “hang up her boots” and “start a new stage” in her life “with all the sadness in the world.” “Despite the age I am, I think that physically I still feel very well. But hey, in the end you have priorities in life and you have to make tough decisions. But hey, I also think I’ve had a career that I think many players have not had”, he added in this regard.

“Nobody has given me anything, it is true that I have been a player who has fought until the last second and with that I stay, with the beautiful things. The bad things have made me learn and advance and evolve and I think that is what Nice football too. So, well, I’ll stay with that a bit”, stressed the Guinean footballer.

Although he reiterated that he was “physically well”, he added that his “personal life” takes “priority” from now on. “I am very tired of being away from home, being away from home has greatly diminished me. I need to be with my family, with my partner, establish myself and, as I have said, have a new stage in my life in which I have stability I need that stability,” he argued.

Likewise, Jade reviewed an ugly season for Alhama, marked by relegation and by the controversy last month over the alleged humiliating treatment of some players by their coach, ‘Randri’ García. “It is true that the year has been difficult from beginning to end because we started very badly, with very negative results,” began his analysis.

“Yes, it is true that there was a before and after after the Christmas holidays, which I think was when we began to pick up and feel a little more comfortable. And well, things were happening and it is true that in our other things have happened around it that have had a negative impact,” he said.

“But we, the players, have always been clear that what we had to be was mainly professional from start to finish. That is, everything that was happening is one thing and what had to be done on the pitch is another. We have gone to train like any other day. The weekend showed up and we played like any other weekend”, stressed the Alhama player.

“Leaving in the background all those negative things that maybe hurt us a little, I think that for my taste we have been able to do a good exercise. We are much stronger than we thought”, he valued in a conference press together with ‘Randri’ García himself from the Butarque Municipal Stadium.

“I think we have drawn strength sometimes from where there was not simply because you have to defend a shield and because, when you are committed, you sign a contract and you have to fulfill it until the end in the best conditions in whatever way it is”, sentenced.

Regarding the defeat against the colchoneras, he stressed that the second half “would have been easier” with a goal from him before the break. “We would not have gotten into the game again, but it has already become difficult for us with the goal that they have scored against us again and then we have not been able to come back. We have endured until the end, we have continued trying until the end, but they have been superior to us and we have done what we could”, she concluded.
