García Dols: “I’m working harder than ever to improve and Australia is the perfect place to show it”
MADRID, 10 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The leader of Moto3, the Spanish rider Izan Guevara (GasGas), showed his ambition for the Australian Grand Prix, the eighteenth round of the Motorcycle World Championship, where he has “the first opportunity” to win the category title, although he is “calm ” and “focused” on having “a good weekend”.
“I am ready to race in Australia, although it is a new circuit for me. The last race was difficult, but I am looking forward to this week’s race. In Australia I have the first opportunity to get the title, so I want to make a good race,” he said in statements provided by his team, the Gaviota GASGAS Aspar Team.
In addition, the Balearic wants to “enjoy” the circuit “without pressure”. “If I don’t get it in Australia I’ll try it in the following races,” added Izan Guevara, who arrives with a 49-point advantage in the standings.
When Sunday’s race ends, 50 points will remain to be disputed, those corresponding to the Malaysian and Valencian Grand Prix, so that this weekend Guevara will need to score two more points than his main rival, the Italian Dennis Foggia, to be champion.
Staying ahead of the rest of his rivals for the crown, his teammate Sergio García Dols and the Japanese Ayumu Sasaki, he could become the sixth Aspar Team world champion in the small category this Sunday.
The advantage over García (56 points) and Sasaki (71 points) even allows him to finish behind them, as long as he does not lose more than five points with García and twenty with the Japanese.
GARCÍA DOLS: “I AM WORKING MORE THAN EVER TO IMPROVE”
For his part, Sergio García Dols acknowledged that he is working “more than ever to improve” and that Australia is “the perfect place to prove it”.
“I arrive in Australia very motivated. During the last races I have been dragging a bad streak that has not allowed me to get good results. I really want to get to the circuit and continue working during free practice for the test on Sunday. I want to do a good race and ride with the front group”, he concluded.
