The museum ‘Legends, The Home of Football presented by LaLiga’ will include in its collection the medal, boots and shirt with which Ivana Andrés, captain of the Spanish national team, lifted the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand last August, in a space reserved for the national women’s team, according to a statement.
The player presented Legends with the medal, boots and shirt from the World Cup final, in an event held this Monday at the museum in Madrid. During the ceremony, Andrés expressed his gratitude and excitement for some of his most precious memories. “It is an honor for me and all my teammates to see our history immortalized in the Legends Museum,” she admitted.
“I hope this space inspires future generations of soccer players and reminds them that dreams can come true with effort and dedication,” added the soccer player about her donation to the museum.
And, for Legends, receiving the medal, the boots and the Ivana Andrés shirt “is an honor.” “These objects not only represent a sporting triumph, but also the effort, dedication and passion of a team that has inspired millions of Spaniards,” celebrated Laura Valdeolivas, CEO of Legends.
“We are proud to exhibit these memories and share this incredible story with our visitors,” said the head of the museum about some pieces that will be exhibited in the World Cup area in the Legends space, specifically in a special room dedicated to women’s soccer in the third floor of the museum.
In this space, visitors can enjoy a video that covers the highlights of Spain’s historic World Cup victory, with an interview with Ivana Andrés in which she recounts everything she felt and experienced with the rest of the team to achieve a historic milestone.
