Italy wins with many new faces

Italy won the friendly match against Estonia without hurry, party that according to many, given the circumstances, could be avoided. With Roberto Mancini positive in covid and in isolation, Alberico Evani was on the Azzurra bench, who took the opportunity to test many new faces. Bastoni (who started), Pessina, Pellegri, Luca Pellegrini and Calabria premiered.

The visitors, after an attempt by Marin, practically disappeared from the green, and the star of the night was Vincenzo Grifo, Freiburg winger born and raised in Germany, who never played for a Calcio club and today he achieved his first goals from azzurro.

The first was the most technically relevant moment of the night and it came with a beautiful shot from outside the area, receiving a pass from Lasagna. The Italians played well especially on the right wing, with Di Lorenzo, Soriano and Bernardeschi very inspired. The Juventus forward made it 2-0 with a nice personal move that ended with a low shot at the first post.

Shortly after, a cross from Liivak deflected by Bastoni ended up hitting the post, giving away an emotion, the only one, also in Sirigu's area. Italian dominance continued in the second half and the win was completed with two penalties. One (forced by Gagliardini), It was made by Grifo himself, while the second was the work of Orsolini, whose numbers promise very well. The Bologna forward has played only two games with the senior team (in total, just 66 minutes), but, with today's game, he already boasts two goals from Azzurro.

It was not a complicated commitment, but that controversial friendly helped Italy to chain 20 games in a row without losing (with 15 victories), and add more points in the FIFA ranking. On Sunday, against Poland, he will play a much more complicated exam and will be decisive for the road in the Nations League.
