Italy, express trip to London for the rooms

The Italian team will reduce its stay in England to the maximum to play its round of 16 match this Saturday against Austria at Wembley and will only stay 36 hours in the British country, with a charter flight to Florence that will leave London for about two hours after the meeting. Italy extreme security against the risk of the delta variant of Covid.

Italy, which is concentrated in the Coverciano technical center (Florence, center), will arrive at London Luton airport this Friday at 12.00 local time (11.00 GMT) and will leave the English capital on Saturday at 00.30 (23.30 GMT), reported the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).

The ‘azzurra’ expedition will land in Florence at around 4:00 am on Sunday morning in Italy.

Group A leader Italy will face Austria, second in Group C, at Wembley at 21:00 CET (19:00 GMT) with a quarter-final ticket up for grabs.

The ‘azzurri’ will play for the first time in this European Championship away from home, since until now they played the group stage at the Olympic in Rome.

Roberto Mancini's team has eleven consecutive victories, with zero goals conceded, and has not lost for 30 games, which allowed him to equal his record, which had resisted since 1939.

In addition, they never lost in the thirteen official precedents against Austria, with a balance of ten wins and three draws.
