The meeting began with a cold Italy. Equality reigned in the first minutes of the gamewith the ‘Azurri’ taking the lead with possession of the ball against a Hungary that was looking to surprise with quick transitions.

A header from Mancini coming out of a corner made Dibusz and then it was Donnarumma who had to intervene in a Sallai shot.

Stretcher adelanta in Italy

Italy was letting go and struck the first blow with a beautiful goal by Barella to Spinazzola’s pass. The 1-0 was the origin of the best minutes of play for Mancini’s men, who did not hesitate to go for the second.

Italy’s new sensation, the very young Gnonto, almost made it to a pass from Pellegrini, but the Hungarian defense reacted in time to prevent his shot. It was in one magnificent move by Politano when Pellegrini, arriving in the second instance, expanded the Italian income.

Own goal by Mancini

Hungary improved after the breaktimidly testing Donnarumma, who did not hesitate. Politano crashed a ball against the crossbar before Italy complicated life with a own goal by Mancini.

Despite the short score, Italy did not let Hungary get to their heads and controlled the match well to avoid further trouble. The ‘Azzurri’ will visit England this Saturday on the third day of this group stage of the Nations League.
